Who are Fairfax Digital Productions?

Fairfax Digital Productions is the award winning team that creates and manages video and other multimedia content for both Fairfax Digital and its content partners. We possess a broad range of production skills and experience, and have a strong television and and radio heritage, (the basis for this new and exciting medium). We are skilled to cover all aspects of creating a multimedia story; shooting, editing and presenting.

Our content production extends across a number of platforms, including mobile phones, broadband networks, public display screens, TV programming and interactive TV. Our skills are also used to create video promos, advertisements & other production services for our Fairfax brands.

Creating Content

Our content production reflects the editorial depth and quality that you would expect from Australia's most respected media organization. We work collaboratively with our Fairfax journalists to develop the best stories for video.

The videos we produce are diverse- from news and topical issues to financial market news, film reviews, interviews with stars, unplugged music sessions, fantastic food ideas, road testing the latest car, travel guides through to enjoying life in Sydney and Melbourne.

We are capable of producing in all major online formats, and in a range of speeds from dial up to Broadband. Our videos are served to our audience very easily and efficiently, through automatic detection of connection speed and player type.

Innovative Production facilities

We have production centres in Melbourne and Sydney. In both centres, we have a broadcast capable studio, with comprehensive lighting, chromakey and auto-cue. In these centres, we film material both for Fairfax and external clients. We use the latest lightweight DVCam cameras to shoot our content, and use the most sophisticated non-linear packages for editing.
